Askheim is currently writing his phd about the concept of sustainability at the Department of Social Work, Child Welfare and Social Policy, OsloMet. His educational background is in philosophy and his project is affiliated with the NFR project 'Virtual Presence' and CEDIC (Research Centre for Digitalisation of Public Services and Citizenship). He is also a guest researcher at Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE) at the University of Oslo.
