The Sweet Spot project is a collaborative effort that brings together various disciplines to pinpoint the main sources and key areas of plastic pollution in Norwegian waters. By combining different fields and engaging multiple stakeholders, the project aims to enhance existing research at NTNU and explore transformative solutions to the issue of marine plastic pollution. This transformation will be achieved through an integrated approach, incorporating machine learning, artificial intelligence, lab analysis, behavioral change, supply chain management, and business model research, with active participation from local and regional stakeholders. The term "sweet spots" signifies the use of complementary knowledge systems to create a thorough understanding of marine plastic pollution in Norway, which will then serve as a basis for co-developing effective and eco-friendly interventions.
