Welfare Experiences is a cross-cultural comparative study that looks at lived experiences of people receiving welfare benefits across 5 countries: Norway, Spain, United Kingdom, Estonia and Hungary. Interviews will be conducted with 15-20 participants in each country, with digital follow up over the course of a 6 month period. As digitalization is increasing in most welfare states, we anticipate that this will play a role in our findings. Each country was selected in part with attention to the degree of digitalization in their current welfare system, with Estonia representing the welfare state with the highest degree of digitalization.
