The PhD project evaluates the clinical implementation of a new digital follow-up system in the form of an app at the Department of Endocrinology at Akershus University Hospital (Ahus) for patents with type 1 diabetes. The telehealth system has a questionnaire with patient reported outcome measures (PROM) that is sent out to patients before consultation where the purpose is to identify individual needs for contact with the health service. The questionnaires should also form the basis for dialogue, decision-making, enable patients to self-manage and help health personnel perform their tasks more efficiently. In addition, the app has a messaging service where patients can contact us when they need advice or follow-up. Furthermore, flexible choices are made about how consultations are conducted by physical attendance, telephone, or video consultation.
