Numerous studies have explored various perspectives on sustainability and digital transition separately, there is a limited number of papers that examine the interplay between sustainability transformation and digital transition comprehensively, thereby the intricate interplay, synergies, and conflicts that exist between them have been overlooked. The concept of the twin transformation is receiving more attention these days, however, existing research in this area remains fragmented and insufficient. Given the significant interaction between digital and sustainability transformations, there is an imperative need to investigate the conflicts and alignments between these two concepts comprehensively. In light of these complexities, this research project aims to provide a comprehensive and integrated understanding of twin transformations, examining the alignments and conflicts presented by the digital transformation and sustainability transformation. This research project aims to fill the existing knowledge gap, offering valuable insights that can guide organizations in navigating the complexities of twin transformations, optimizing synergies, mitigating conflicts, and driving sustainable innovation and value creation.
