Join our research school – new spots opening for 2025!

Are you a PhD candidate or postdoctoral fellow registered at a Norwegian university?

Would you like to gain valuable skills and knowledge on topics related to digitalisation, culture, and society?

DIGIT is now accepting applications for the DIGIT class of 2025!

Our membership program offers a range of opportunities over a two-year period, including joint seminars, academic courses, writing workshops, networking events, and secondment opportunities designed to help members develop both personally and professionally, and to enhance their research and career prospects.

As a member, you will gain access to a supportive and diverse network of fellow researchers, as well as opportunities for exchange and access to a range of scientific and generic courses.

For new members, participation in our 4-day kick-off course, Digitalisation, Culture and Society (November/December), is mandatory. While most of our members come from the social sciences and humanities, we welcome applications from PhD and postdoctoral fellows from other backgrounds. We also invite a few "young researchers" (defined as individuals who have completed their PhD within the last seven years) to join the school.

The DIGIT research school is supported by the Norwegian Research Council. It is a Research School for Quality and Relevance, meaning that the school aims to increase the doctoral degree programs' relevance to the labor market and to improve collaboration between academia and other social actors through the researcher training.

In addition to our partnership with six Norwegian academic institutions (University of Bergen, Nord University, University of South-Eastern Norway, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and University of Agder), we also partner with several actors from the public and private sectors (Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), Spekter, Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV), The Norwegian Digitalisation Agency, Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS), and No Isolation). DIGIT is hosted by the Centre for Digitalization of Public Services and Citizenship (CEDIC) at Oslo Metropolitan University.
